A BMW M4 CS is being offered as a prize for the fastest motorcycle racers in the world. The BMW M Award is presented to the MotoGP star who has the best qualifying results over the course of a season. And the limited edition, 460hp coupe is the reward for 2017.
BMW has been associated with the top class of two wheeled racing since 1999, and has presented the M Award for qualifying for 15 years now. For 2017, they’ve also provided the championship with safety cars including an M2, M3 and M4 Coupe, and the safety officer gets an M5 to pretty much complete the set. Two BMW X5 M medical cars are also supplied.
The BMW M4 CS is an appropriate choice for anyone that appreciates speed and handling. The 460hp M TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder also produces 600 Nm of torque. Which translates into a 0-62mph time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 174mph. And a Nurburgring Nordschliefe lap of 7:38 minutes.
Helping with that power is a BMW Active M differential, and an M double-clutch with Drivelogic across seven gears. The BMW M4 CS also has exclusive light alloy wheels, and innovative new OLED rear lights. Inside are lightweight M sports seats, an M Alcantara steering wheel and lots more.
To keep weight low, the bonnet and roof are made from carbon fibre-reinforced plastic.
The suspension is similar to the M4 with the Competition Package, with forged aluminium links and wheel carriers. And it has Adaptive M suspension tuned for road and track, with a Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system to ensure grip.
Outside, the 116,900 Euro BMW M4 CS features twin LED headlights above large air intakes and a new carbone fibre front splitter. And the rear defuser and carbon-fibre bood spoiler help the air flow.
