This advert for the new Land Rover Defender has given us a behind-the-scenes look at the new James Bond film, ‘No Time To Die‘. Check out the video below…
The exciting advert shows the Defender being pushed “beyond what we thought was possible” through fields, swamps and rivers. It even performs an impressive 30m jump at the beginning of the sequence.
The scene was led by stunt coordinator, Lee Morrison who was working alongside Chris Corbould, an Oscar winner for his work in special effects and action vehicle supervision.
Morrison explained that they pushed the car as hard as they could “to generate the maximum excitement, and to give fans an insight into the uncompromising challenge of producing an incredible chase sequence”. It definitely worked!
The car is massively impressive and equally so is the driving. According to the Land Rover Defender vehicle line director, there were “no modifications to the body structure except the installation of a roll cage ” This ensured the scene was as authentic as possible whilst ensuring the safety of the driver.
Behind the wheel of the Defender is Jessica Hawkins who was hand-picked by Morrison after her performances in the Formula 3 W Series caught his eye.
Speaking about the opportunity to work as a stunt driver for the first time she said, “It doesn’t get any more exhilarating than being a stunt driver in a James Bond movie and it’s an honour to be a part of this incredible movie driving the new Defender”. It looks like an incredible amount of fun, doesn’t it?
