Since we have looked at what American and Asian Automakers are bringing to the Chicago Auto Show, let us take a look at Europe’s automakers are bringing to the show.
Volkswagen Group
The entire Volkswagen Group are being very quiet about what they might unveil at the auto show. However, that does not mean that they are not bringing everything else that they make. Porsche will bring all of their sports cars and SUV’s, being sure to feature their fear-some 918 Spyder. Audi will be bring their typical variety of vehicles that you see at auto shows. Lamborghini will come by with their Gallardo replacement, the Huracan. Even Bugatti will bring their Veyron. Lastly, Volkswagen themselves will of-course be bringing their range of Hatchbacks.
BMW Group
The BMW Group are also being quiet about their reveals. You can expect BMW and Mini to bring their different varieties of their respective vehicles. BMW’s X4, X5M, and X6M will all make their Chicago Auto Show debut, as will Mini’s Countryman and the newest John Cooper Works. Rolls-Royce will also be at Chicago with their Ghost and Wraith.
Aston Martin, Jaguar, and Land Rover
According to the Chicago Auto Show website, Aston Martin will only be bringing their Vantage. It is unclear whether or not that means that they will bring the whole range of the model or just one type. Meanwhile, Jaguar and Land Rover will also be bringing their respective range of vehicles with Jaguar featuring their F-Type and Land Rover bringing the new Discovery Sport for its Chicago debut. All three companies have not made any debut announcements either.
Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes will be bringing their wide range of luxury sedans, coupes, and SUV’s. Mercedes will be featuring their AMG GT and the new S-Class Maybach at Chicago since it will be the first time these models have been there. Mercedes has not released any teases about what they might unveil at Chicago as well.
Volvo
Volvo will, of-course, bring their range of safe, reliable vehicles to Chicago. Volvo’s XC90 and XC90 Hybrid will be making their Chicago debut as will the new 560 Cross County and Inception that they brought to NAIAS. Volvo too has not teased any unveils to be made at Chicago.
So, why do these automakers seemingly have no unveils for the Chicago Auto Show? Personally, I can think of two scenarios. Firstly, these companies obviously want to make some type of huge revival at the show and do not want to spoil it. Secondly, the companies might want to save their bigger plans for the Geneva Auto Show next month. Since these companies have the “home field advantage” in Geneva, waiting to make their big revels there makes the most sense for them. We will have to wait for tomorrow to see if this prediction is correct.
