Once again, there is a new record for the fastest front-wheel drive lap around the Nurburgring. In other news, water is wet.
The battle for FWD hot-hatch supremacy kicked off when the SEAT Leon Cupra broke the eight minute mark. Since then, Renault, Honda and Volkswagen have all had their turn at the top.
This time, the title is back with the Honda Civic Type-R. With a time of 7 minutes 43.8 seconds, it has taken over three seconds off the time set by the Golf GTI Clubsport S last year.
