We presume the owner of this Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 knew that Hennessey Performance would be testing his car on the 1/4 mile at Lonestar Motorsports Park?
The end result is 135.38mph and a 10.6574 second time. That’s from the Camaro HPE1000 Twin Turbo upgrade which delivers 1,000bhp at 6,400rpm, with a list of extras including forged aluminium pistons, steel rods and crankshaft, high flow cylinder heads, upgrades to the fuel system and injector, plus a custom HPE camshaft. Plus upgrading the clutch to handle it all.
Then again, they also recently took a Chevrolet Corvette C7 to 200mph on a Texas toll road, using a HPE600 package and a 100-hp nitrous system. That moved the power from stock 460bhp, 180mph, to 700bhp and 200mph.
And let us not forget, they also set a new world speed record for two-seat sports cars earlier this year by achieving 270.49mph in a Hennessey Venom GT. They even picked a cool venue for the record – the 3.2 Space Shuttle landing runway at the John F Kennedy Space Center.
We’d like all three in our garage, please…
