For vintage car collectors, Bentley’s are always among the most desirable models. So when a rare Bentley shows up in a barn in Surrey, people tend to sit up and notice. The Bentley in question has been parked in this barn for the last 30 years, and all things considered, the car is in fairly decent shape. The current owner, whose family parked the car, thought that the car was only worth around £30,000 or around $46,000. Well, he was a bit wrong.
The Bentley in question is a 1929 4 ½ Litre. Bentley used this model for many of its early endurance races such as some of the original Le Mans races. Many vintage Bentley collects want this vehicle for their very own. In fact, according to METRO, Rob Hubbard, a car specialist at the Bonhams Action House, not only called it a “holy grail,” he also compared finding this rare car is like discovering a Rembrandt.
According to Hubbard, the found Bentley is such good condition; he estimates that the car will actually be worth £300,000 or around $460,000. Why is the car worth that much? Everything on the car: the color, the trim, the interior, and the running gear, is all original. There are simply not that many barn finds like this every day. Bonhams has not released any details about when the sale will be. We think it is safe to say that there will be a lot of press surrounding the sale when it happens.
