If you’re going to drive a pick-up truck, you want it to be the biggest and best. So if you work at Nissan and the new 2016 Nissan Titan XD is being launched, it makes sense you’d borrow one and turn it into the Nissan Titan Warrior Concept. And then spend three minutes filming it to a rock soundtrack.
What you get is a 5-litre, 8-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, to haul a truck which is 3 inches taller and 6 inches wider than the typical Titan XD.
Cosmetically, you also get a custom matte gunmetal paintjob with orange and black highlights, and the wheels get an aluminium and dark matte finish. You also get various bits of carbon fibre, including the bumpers and rear spoiler, plus LED off-road lights on the roof joining the front and rear LED lighting.
The suspension is raised by three inches, to allow 37 inch off-road tires with 18 x 9.5 wheels. It’s also beefed up with custom upper and lower control arms and internal bypass reservoir coil-over shocks at the front. Being wider than standard required wider axles, and you may well need the oversized front skid plate.
There’s some stuff inside as well, including carbon fibre, chrome and leather. But the Nissan Titan Warrior Concept is more about off-road ability and intimidating the neighbours, and it does that pretty well. There’s no word on whether any of the features will make it into any production models as yet, sadly.
