When it comes to videos of car stunts, we’ve all seen the Youtube clips of Ken Block hooning around for Monster Energy in various gymkhana events. But the recent Recoil 2 video shows that maybe ‘Ballistic’ B.J Baldwin is having even more fun in his 800hp Trophy Truck, powered by a 458 inch small block Chevy and putting out 690 ftlb of torque.
His first video was out last year, and it was alright.
The new one is better though, as Baldwin gets to tear through the Mexican town of Ensenada en route to the beach. If you’re wondering, the front suspension has a big 26 inches of travel, bt the rear has a whopping 34 inches of travel, and those massive tyres are Toyo Open Country MT-R 39 13.50R17 Race Spec rubber.
So basically big and bouncy fun, combined with a quarter mile potential of 12.1 seconds and a top speed of 145mph in something that can handle all kinds of terrain. Baldwin’s record as a driver isn’t too shabby either, with 4 off-road championships, a Dakar Rally 1st in class and 7th overall and more, including the last two Baja 1000s.
Now all we need is a big truck and a desert town to play in…
