The first images of the new Jaguar F-Type British Design Edition, created to celebrate the manufacturer’s British Heritage, have been released. Unsurprisingly, it’s gorgeous!
Based on the all-wheel-drive F-Type S, the British Design Edition comes with a host of new interior and exterior features including a new blue colour option previously not available on the F-Type. Other available paint colours are red, white and black.
The new F-Type features Jaguar’s Exterior Sport Design Pack which includes extended splitters on the front bumper, side sills and rear bumper venturi. The ‘Super Performance Braking System’, which comes as standard on the more powerful F-Type R, improves the British Design Edition’s handling. The leather interior is available in red, ivory or blue.
The car has ‘British Special Edition’ badging on the front and rear, as well as unique branding on the headrests, tread plates and centre console trim. The 20 inch alloys, finished with a grey colour, complete the exterior enhancements. You’ll have to settle for AWD with an eight-speed quickshift transmission because that’s the only spec available.
With regards to the price, the new F-Type starts at £75,225 for the Coupé and £80,390 for the convertible. This puts it in between the AWD F-Type S (£66,195+) and the F-Type R (£85,370+). First deliveries are expected to be taken in the spring.
The British Design Edition most certainly looks the part but is it really worth that extra £9k? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
