Ford has released a new video explaining each of the four driving modes on the new Focus RS including the highly anticipated Drift Mode. With Ben Collins (formerly The Stig on the BBC’s Top Gear) behind the wheel, the car is put to the test both on the road and the track.

The four drive modes available on the Focus RS are Normal, Sport, Track and Drift. Normal sets the AWD system, the dampers, steering, exhaust, ESC and engine to the same normal settings for every day driving. Sport makes the AWD system slightly more aggressive and changes the steering, engine response and exhaust noise – the ESC and dampers stay the same.
Track mode brings the ESC and dampers up to the sport setting and after that, there is the car’s Drift mode. This sends extra torque to the rear wheels, softens the dampers and steering and primes the AWD system allowing the car to slide. You can see all four modes in action in the video below…
The new Ford Focus RS is on sale now with first deliveries expected to be taken later in the year. Prices start at £28,940.
