BMW has continued to increase car sales with almost monotonous regularity. A total of 232,556 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce cars were sold in March, a new record and up 9% on 2014. And that helped to achieve a record first quarter 526,669 vehicles delivered.
That 8.1% increase for the first three months includes strong sales for BMW, which made up 451,576 of the total, including the new 2 Series, 4 Series, X5 and X6. The new i range of electric vehicles grew, with more than 2,600 sold, and MINI had its own first quarter record with 74,312 tallied up.
Only Rolls-Royce has struggled a bit, especially with difficult market conditions in China. But BMW and MINI have seen steady growth in the country, along with South Korea and the rest of Asia. Sales in America and Canada also grew, and there was a significant rise in Great Britain and France. And if that’s not enough, the motorcycle division also grew sales (If you’re also a motorcycle fan, check out our two-wheeled sister site, Rescogs.com)
It’s a reminder of the size and scale of the BMW Group – it sold approximately 2.118 million cars and 123,000 motorcycles in 2014, and looks set to beat that in 2015 after clocking up half a million sales already.
