Audi RS4 Avant Bronze Edition unveiled

February 18, 2020 By Rob Knight Leave a Comment

This is the new Audi RS4 Avant Bronze Edition. I know, I know – everything is limited edition these days. This one is properly exclusive, though. Only 25 will be sold in the UK.

It joins the Avant, Avant Carbon Black and Avant Vorsprung in the RS4 range. It costs £82,395 and that is a substantial amount more than the £64,600 for the standard RS4 Avant.

Unfortunately, the extra eighteen grand doesn’t change anything under the bonnet. Open it up and you’ll find the same 2.9-litre turbocharged V6 putting out an identical 444bhp and 443lb ft. 0-62mph takes 4.1 seconds and yes, it’s still limited to 155mph.

There are plenty of other differences, however, that might just make it worth the money.

As you can see from the photos, Audi have gone for a stealthy look with the limited edition estate using dark colours and contrasting hints of bronze, both inside and out.

It’s painted in Vesuvius Grey with black grilles, intakes and roof rails as well as matte carbon on the lip spoiler, wing mirrors and rear diffuser. Then there’s those less-than-stealthy 20-inch bronze alloys which I am a huge fan of.

The Bronze Edition also comes with the RS Sport exhaust system which both adds to and takes away from the stealthy appearance. The usual chrome oval exhaust tips are swapped for black equivalents and the already noisy soundtrack from the V6 is amplified further.

The upgrades continue inside the vehicle. You now get the 10.1-inch MMI touchscreen display and Bang & Olufsen sound system. You also benefit from massaging front seats, a Virtual Cockpit with RS-specific visuals, Matrix LED headlights and 360-degree wide-angle parking cameras.

The dark appearance is carried over from the exterior, too. The black Fine Nappa leather sports seats feature bronze stitching, as do the centre console, armrests, steering wheel and gear selector lever. Matt carbon twill inlays compliment the black leather. If it looks as smart as the outside does. it’s guaranteed to be a nice place to be.

Whilst I did say the standard RS4 Avant is much cheaper, that price is without additional extras, most of which come as standard on the Bronze Edition. Also, the Vorsprung is £82,200 anyway. When you look at it like that, an extra £200 isn’t a lot for a set of bronze alloys and that level of exclusivity.

Do you like the RS4 Avant Bronze Edition? I know I’m certainly enjoying those photos. Let us know what you think via the comments section below or via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
