500bhp per tonne – the Zenos E10-R!

November 20, 2015 By Rob Knight Leave a Comment

British sports car makers Zenos Cars have promised an astonishing 500bhp per tonne in their new road-legal track toy, the Zenos E10-R.

Zenos E10-R

The E10-R is extremely easy on the eye.

The mid-engined E10-R is made up of an aluminium chassis and recycled carbon fibre bodywork and weighs only 700kg. At the front of the car, you’ll find the springs and dampers are mounted on-board and actuate push-rods like a racing car. Powered by the 2.3l EcoBoost engine found in the likes of the Ford Focus RS and the Mustang, the Zenos E10-R kicks out a very impressive 350bhp. As you’d expect, this thing is fast… Very fast.

If the rear wheels get enough traction, you can expect to get to 60mph in under 3 seconds and max out at 155mph. At that speed, you’ll probably want to be wearing a helmet, unless you fancy spending £2000 on having a windscreen fitted. With adjustable Bilstein dampers,  Eibach springs, lightweight OZ alloys, four-piston Alcon racing brakes and unassisted steering, you’ll be able to carry ridiculous amounts of speed through corners.

Zenos E10-R

The Zenos E10-R looks like a lot of fun to drive!

It really does make for an amazing little track toy and it can be yours for £40k. Some may say that it’s a lot of money to spend on a car without doors or a roof, but really, you’re not going to be buying the Zenos E10-R for its practicality, are you? When you consider that the Caterham 620R, which is less powerful, starts at £49,995, you’ll see that you’ll be getting your money’s worth and more.

Zenos are also building a limited number of Drive Editions to celebrate the launch of the E10-R. This will come in a unique ‘Charged Graphite’ colour and will feature upgraded dampers, an uprated brake master cylinder, carbon fibre seats and a short-shift gear lever. This edition of the E10-R will cost £43,995.

Is the Zenos E10-R worth all that money? Have a look at a few more pictures and be sure to let us know what you think!
