2016 Shelby GT350 and GT350R Prices Leaked – Much less than you’d expect

May 27, 2015 By Ben Williams Leave a Comment

Ever since Ford announced that the GT350R and later the GT350, Mustang and muscle car fans alike have wanting one for their very own when the limited run models later this year.  Now the 2016 Shelby GT350 and GT350 prices leaked out for all of us to see.

2016 Shelby GT350R Mustang

Ford Claims that this will be the most track-capable Mustang ever. That makes this low price even more amazing.

The “base” GT350 will start for $49,995 once you add destination charges and gas-guzzler tax to the initial $47,870 price tag.  Considering, that the 2015 Mustang GT (5.0) w/ Track & Tech Package comes in at around $46,000, that price is fairly reasonable.  For the GT350R, the price will start at $63,495, once again, with the destination charges and gas-guzzler tax to the initial $61,370.  Compare that to probably the GT350R’s main competitor, the Camaro Z/28, is over $10,000 more, Mustang certainly has a huge advantage over its ever present rival.

The leaked information also provided information about some of the technology packages that can be added to both models.  For the GT350, you can add a Tech and Track Packages for $7,500 and $6,500 respectfully.  These packages add things such as power-adjustable seats, upgraded audio system, magnetic ride suspension and other goodies.  For the GT350R, there will be an Electronics Package that will cost $3,000 that while it is not clear about what exactly comes in the package; the assumption is that it will include most of the specs as the GT350’s Tech Package.

These prices are amazingly low, considering all that you get from these two models.  Think about, the first carbon-fiber “stock” wheels will be on a car for less than $100,000.  These models also have Ford’s first DOHC V8, not to mention the amount of suspension technology that Ford is cramming into the models.   Ford has not, at this time, commented about the leak, but since it is out there now, we hope that Ford will embrace it and move on rather than getting mad at a group of over excited enthusiasts.
