There is nothing more interesting than the spread of a viral video. Whether it is Ken Block drifting his Mustang around the streets of L.A., or an adorable cat doing adorable things, a video can reach millions upon billions of people thanks to the internet. One of the newest car viral videos around are videos of people’s reactions to the Insane mode on Tesla’s P85D.
Using the instant torque of its electric motors, the P85D will go from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds which is just as fast off the line, if not faster, than most sports cars. Several different tests have shown that the 0-60 time can be as low as 3.1 seconds as well. However, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced last week on Twitter that using Tesla’s industry changing “over-the-air” software updates, the P85D and the P85 will receive an update to actually increase acceleration. If this is the 21st Century equivalent of a tune-up, I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords.
