Nissan’s New Mobile BBQ

On Friday, Nissan released a video showing off the features of their new “whimsical” concept, the Ultimate Smart BBQ Vehicle.

The Ultimate Smart BBQ Vehicle is based around one of Nissan’s electric vehicles in order to show off that potential for their electric vehicles to be used as a power supply.  Nissan, wanting to take advantage of the apparent rise in the popularity of BBQ in Japan, says that the new concept provides the power needed to BBQ with zero emissions.  The cooking with power supply will mean that you will not have to bother with starting a fire and cleaning it up afterwards, which, according to Nissan, ruins the experience.

The Ultimate Smart BBQ Vehicle also includes a variety of features such as the Refreshing Mist Shower to keep everyone near the vehicle cool, Mosquito Barrier System that uses ultrasonic waves and insect repellent to drive away insects, a Flying Selfie Camera, a quadcopter, that will take pictures of your BBQ, and a Smartphone Linked Display that turns an entire window of the vehicle into a screen.  Once again, I wish I was making this up.

Even though Nissan is probably making all of this up, this concept is slightly brilliant in many ways.  If Nissan could actually make all of this happen, it could become a popular tailgating vehicle at sporting events in America.  To be completely honest though, I think I will stick to my old, trusty grill and my Aztek.
