Alfa Giulia Veloce to be unveiled in Paris
The 2016 Paris Motor Show is set to host the unveiling of Alfa’s new Giulia Veloce. It’ll be the mid-range option in between a sensible diesel and the slightly mental Quadrifoglio.
As promising as that sounds, the news is not all good. Many were hoping for a Giulia that would compete with the likes of the Audi S4, Mercedes C43 AMG and the BMW 340i – all 300bhp+ turbo sixes. Unfortunately, the Veloce will not be competing with any of the above but it should be a fair bit cheaper.
The two engine options are both turbocharged four-cylinders, one petrol and one diesel. The petrol is a 2.0-litre with 276bhp and 295lb ft of torque, and the diesel a 2.2-litre with 207bhp and 347lb ft.of torque. both engine options come paired with ‘Q4’ on-demand- all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The Giulia Veloce might not be as fast or as powerful as the aforementioned ‘rivals’ but it most certainly will not be slow. There’s no doubting the appearance either. It looks very much like the Quadrifoglio with it’s big alloys and brightly coloured brake calipers. It has the sporty front and rear bumpers, too. Inside, you get the sport seats with special aluminium trim and all of the tech fitted to the standard car.
It’ll be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show which runs from 1st-16th October. Who’s excited?
