An 804bhp Ford Mustang? It must be Hennessey…
This year, Hennessey is celebrating 25 years of ‘making fast cars faster’, and they’ve started the party with this absolutely insane 804bhp Ford Mustang!
It’s called the Mustang HPE800 25th Anniversary Edition and only 25 will be made, each costing a hefty $99,500. It sounds a bit pricey, but you do get an awful lot for your money.
As you can see, there have been plenty of exterior modifications. You get a new front splitter, rear lip splitter, 15-inch Brembo brakes sat inside lightweight 20-inch alloys (staggered, wider at the rear). It also comes with lower suspension and lots of anniversary badges and graphics.
It’s under the bonnet that it gets really interesting, though. The ‘Stang’s 5.0-litre V8 gets a new 2.9-litre supercharger along with an upgraded fuel pump and injectors, a carbon fibre high air flow induction kit and a remapped ECU.
The result? A whopping 804bhp and 648lb ft of torque. To put that into context for you, the ‘regular’ 5.0-litre V8 Ford Mustang produces 416bhp, so performance has been increased quite significantly.
All of that extra power allows the new Mustang to get to 60mph in 3.1-seconds, as opposed to 4.8-seconds in the standard V8, and it tops out at a very impressive 207.9mph. It’ll do a quarter of a mile in 10.7-seconds reaching a speed of 133mph.
These figures, are, says Hennessey, performed “with an experienced driver under ideal track conditions”, but even so, it’s a ridiculously fast car.
