2015 Chicago Auto Show: Ram’s New Oxymoron

Yesterday, Ram, Fiat-Chrysler’s truck brand, announced a new truck at the Chicago Auto Show. Called the Laramie Limited, this new truck was design to be the a luxury truck.  While that does sound like an oxymoron, Ram promises that the Laramie Limited will deliver a high-level of sophistication and attention to detail while still being a Ram pick-up truck that can work.

Laramie Limited will work as a trim level, so it will be available on most variations of the Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 models.  The Laramie Limited will change just about every visual aspect of the trucks.  The exterior of the trucks will be changed to, as predicted, reflex the styling that we saw on the new Ram Rebel at NAIAS.  The Laramie Limited will also add a number of LED’s, chrome bumpers, possibly over-sized Ram badges, and different wheel options. The 1500 model will also be equipped with an air suspension and a wheel-to-wheel side steps.

The changes will continue into the interior of the trucks.  Basically the entire interior is covered in a high quality leather with chrome and liquid graphite accents.  The Laramie Limited also adds special instrument gauges, Chrysler’s UConnect system, and charging ports for most mobile devices.  The 1500 model will also confirmed to include remote start, backup camera, power adjustable pedals with memory, heated steering wheel, front ventilated and heated seats.

The Ram 1500 Laramie Limited model will be available sometime this spring while the 2500 & 3500 models will be available sometime this summer.
