NISMO University: Inside the GTR NISMO Engine

NISMO University is back and with only a few weeks before the 24 Hour of Le Mans, NISMO is still continuing the coverage of their new GT-R NISMO LP race car.  Previously, NISMO has covered why they chose to use FWD, and some of the testing they put their car though.  This time, NISMO talks about the GT-R NIMSO’s turbocharged V6.  However, to be honest, most of the video is an extend commercial for Motul, Nissan’s fluids partner.

There is somethings that can be learned from the video.  For instance, we learn that of the rumored 1250 hp, the gas engine will produce 550 hp.  This furthers the rumors that the while it will be FWD biased; there will still be some hybrid power to the rear wheels.  We also get some nice background footage of the engine in and out of the car, but other than that, there was not a lot of new information in the video worth mentioning.  Our guess is that NIMSO is going to play most of their cards against their chest till next month.
