Nice DTM 2015 Season Summary Movie

Whether you’ve watched the 2015 DTM season or you’re curious about what has happened in the German touring car series, this 12 minute DTM 2015 Season Summary movie is worth checking out.

It features various drivers talking about the events of the season, and some of the big moments. Drivers competing in the championship included Pascal Wehrlein, Jamie Green, Mattias Ekstrom, Bruno Spengler, Paul di Resta, Tom Blomqvist, Timo Glock and more.

For British fans, Jame Green challenged for the title, and Paul di Resta, Gary Paffett and Tom Blomqvist were the other drivers racing under the Union Jack. The cars competing for the various teams were the BMW M4 DTM, DTM AMG Mercedes C-Coupe and the Audi RS5 DTM, and an incredibly close finish saw BMW just take the title from Mercedes by 7 points.

The team championship went to HWM AG, running the Mercedes C-Coup with eventual drivers champion Pascal Wehrlein, Christian Vietoris, Paul di Resta and Robert Wickens. This season saw DTM go back to holding two races on each weekend, and from the third race of the season a ballast system was introduced.

Although the official DTM channel on Youtube sadly doesn’t tend to upload full race coverage after each meeting, they do often share full races from the onboard cameras in specific cars. For example, you can spend an hour experiencing the final race of the season at Hockenheim onboard with Mattias Ekstrom, including listening to the radio communication to the driver.

It’s always fascinating to see the work that a driver actually has to do in a racing cockpit, including the footwork, steering inputs and making adjustments to the balance of the car.  Anyone else find the noise of racing cars wonderfully relaxing when you haven’t got commentators talking all over them? Or is it just us that work to a soundtrack of engines?
