New Le Mans: Racing is Everything Reality Series on Amazon
Le Mans: Racing is Everything is a new, unscripted series which will be released on Amazon Prime Video from June 9th, 2017. The show follows the Porsche, Audi, Nissan, Toyota, Aston Martin and Rebellion teams through the preparation, build-up and the legendary 24 hour event. And features drivers including former F1 legend Mark Webber, German three-time Le Man winner Andre Lotterer, Nico Prost, and Team Nissan GT Academy graduate Jann Mardenborough.

Webber famously drove the Mercedes-Benz CLR back in 1999. Problems with aerodynamic instability caused it to flip twice. Once while Webber was driving at the Le Mans test day and again in warm-up. Followed by the CLR of Peter Dumbreck becoming airborne during the race.
It should be a fascinating show for anyone interested in motorsport. It’s directed by the Emmy Award-nominated James Erskine. He’s previously directed a number of sports documentary films and shows. Credits include One Night in Turin and Shooting for Socrates (football), Pantani: The Accidental Death (cycling), and American Masters.
And Le Mans: Racing is Everything is being produced by Victoria Gregory and their production company New Black Films. Gregory’s previous credits include Man on Wire, and particularly the Ayrton Senna biographical documentary Senna. Which is a pretty high standard to match.

With a history dating back to 1923, the 13.629 (8.47 mile) Circuit de la Sarthe is steeped in history. Originally it ran entirely on public roads. Despite the tragedies which occurred at Le Mans, particularly during the early years of racing, it remains one of the most glamorous and prestigious events in racing. Particularly as the old Le Mans circuit featured the 6km Mulsanne Straight, on which cars reached as much as 405 kmh / 252mph. Even after the introduction of two chicanes in 1990, the cars can hit around 330kmh / 205mph. For hour, after hour, after hour.
And the tradition of running on public sections of track continues. Those section have much less grip and more challenging surfaces that the Bugatti Circuit section.
