Is Lexus Teasing A Replacement for the LFA?

Yesterday, in a press release, Lexus has announced that they will be bringing a brand new concept to the Geneva Motor Show.  Excitingly, Lexus is calling the new concept the LF-SA.  Could this be the replacement to their ledgardly LFA?  If you are judging this by the press release that was shorter than first paragraph of my college term paper, it is hard to tell.

This is the photo that Lexus has released of their new LF-SA Concept. They are either being secretive or they are worried about the design.

While Lexus is referring to the new concept as an exploration into “unexpected territories for the brand in a bold and emotional execution.”  Lexus also says that the concept will be driver focused while still being luxurious.  The use of the word luxury in the press release is a cause for concern, since Lexus is known as a luxury car company.  However, since the original LFA defiled this expectation, it is hard to say.

Though we don’t know exactly what the new LF-SA Concept is, we do know when it will be unveiled.  We will get to actually see the concept at Lexus’s press conference at the Geneva Motor Show on March 3rd at 12:30 p.m.

UPDATE: An Lexus executive, Mark Templin, executive vice president of Lexus International, has said earlier this month to Automotive News that they will not venture into the over-priced super car market anytime soon.  There are rumors that this new concept will actually be Lexus’s entrance into the sub-compact car market to go up against the Mini Cooper and and Audi A1 in order to boost sales in Europe.  While it is still in question what this new concept might be, it is highly likely that Lexus will not be sharing anything else about it till the doors open for their press conference.
