Chevrolet unveil new Corvette Z06 and C7.R
Chevrolet has unveiled the new Corvette Z06 and C7.R at the North American International Car Show in Detroit. The two cars were co-developed, with the new C7.R race cars making their debut at Daytona at the end of January.
As a result, the new Corvette is said to be the most capable yet on a racetrack, with 625 horsepower from a new, supercharged 6.2 litre V8 engine, available with either a 7-speed manual or 8-speed auto with paddle shifters. The LT4 engine was designed with a more efficient and compact supercharger, which spins at up to 20,000rpm. It will come with larger Michelin tyres to deliver more grip, and also features extended bumpers for a wider and lower appearance. A Z07 Performance Package will be available, including uprated Brembo brake rotors, and 2 additional aerodynamic packages will be available, with either a carbon-fibre aero package, or the Z07 package.
Would you fancy a new Corvette in your garage this year?
