BMW signs Tom Blomqvist – son of Stig
BMW has completed the line-up for the 2015 DTM season with Tom Blomqvist. The 21-year-old British driver has a rather memorable surname – he’s the son of Swedish rally legend and 1984 World Rally Champion Stig Blomqvist.

While Swedish father Stig focused mainly on rallying with British and Swedish championships amongst other victories, Tom has focused on Tarmac. He raced in karting in New Zealand, Formula Renault in Sweden and the UK, and F3 in Germany and Europe.
He’s one of eight BMW drivers, joining reigning DTM champion Marco Wittmann (DE), Maxime Martin (BE), Augusto Farfus (BR), Bruno Spengler (CA), Martin Tomczyk (DE), Timo Glock (DE) and António Félix da Costa (PT).
