A second expansion has been announced for Forza Horizon 3 and it is unlike anything they’ve ever done before. The Horizon 3 Hot Wheels DLC brings some amazing Hot Wheels cars, tracks and stunts to the open-world racing game.
Like the Blizzard Mountain expansion, it introduces us to a whole new location. Made up of six new themed islands off the coast of Australia, you’ll find all sorts of crazy jumps, loops and banked turns to manoeuvre. There are also features like half-pipes and boost pads to bring even more of your childhood into the game.
To accompany the ready-made circuits in the expansion, there is also a new Stunt Swap feature. This allows you to edit stunt sections and send them to your friends for them to try out. There is a new campaign, too, involving different events across the islands leading up to the finale on the Hot Wheels Goliath circuit.
As I mentioned before, there are some new cars included in the DLC – 10 of them in fact. One is a mystery barn find but the list of confirmed cars is as follows:
- 1969 Hot Wheels Twin Mill
- 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker
- 2012 Hot Wheels Rip Rod
- 2005 Hot Wheels Ford Mustang
- 2016 Jeep Trailcat
- 2016 Zenvo ST1
- 2007 Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks AT38
- 2010 Pagani Zonda R
- 1972 Chrysler VH Valiant Charger R/T E4
My guess is that the barn find will be another classic Hot Wheels car.
The DLC comes out on 9 May for Xbox One and Windows PC and is £16 if you buy it on its own or £27 as part of the FH3 Expansion Pass, which includes Blizzard Mountain as well.
There’s also a new update for Windows 10 players, including better support for popular driving wheels, CPU performance improvements, and added graphical options.
What do you think of the new DLC? A good addition or too much like an arcade game for your liking? Let us know in the comments section below or via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
