This 1956 Austin Princess, formerly owned by the late John Lennon, is to be sold at auction in London on September 7th.
Bought by the Beatles frontman in 1971, the Princess retains the five aeroplane seats fitted by Lennon. The buyer will also get his signature in the form of the car’s original registration and title documents.
Fans of Lennon and The Beatles may recognise this particular Austin Princess from the promotional video he released, alongside his wife Yoko Ono, for his 1972 album, Imagine.
It’s being sold at the RM Sotheby’s auction at London’s Battersea Evolution and is expected to sell for £190,000 to £265,000. UNICEF and Make A Wish America, amongst other charities, will receive a portion of the funds raised by the sale. Take a look at some more photos below…
