Following an example of Ferrari, Aston Martin has created a limited edition track-only super car called the Vulcan. With only 24 in existence, Aston Martin calls their new Vulcan their most extreme and exhilarating creation yet. With the Vulcan, Aston Martin promises a one of a kind track car experience and a level of personalization that they have been known for. The Vulcan also serves as a showcase for both the future of the company’s designs and performance.
Speaking of performance, Aston has brought a lot of their racing technology into the new Vulcan. The track car will have a huge 7.0 L V12 that makes around 800 bhp. The entire Vulcan will be made of carbon-fiber, giving it a power to weight ration that Aston Martin says is better than GT race cars. The Vulcan was also built to fulfill all FIA safety requirements, meaning that the racing technology did not stop there. The Vulcan will also have a carbon-fiber driveshaft, a race-bred six-speed sequential gearbox, race-inspired Michelin tires, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, and push-rod suspension. Because of the performance of the Vulcan, owners of the track car will have the opportunity to take a track driving course and time in a racing simulator before they can have their car delivered.
Unfortunately, we do not know the performance figures for the Vulcan yet. Aston Martin has said that they will not be releasing the performance figures until later this year at the car’s track debut. Aston Martin has also announced a series of track days that they will be hosting in 2016 to show off the capabilities of the Vulcan. The car will make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
