From the people that brought you motorcycle site ResCogs, comes the four-wheeled equivalent with ResCars.
It’s not about the cars that cost the most. It’s about the cars that are fun and cool for whatever reason. American muscle cars, German hatchbacks, Japanese saloons – whatever you enjoy. Whether you picked it up for £100 from a scrapyard, or £100,000 from an auction.
Rob Knight: Rob spends his days working on VWs at his local dealership, and now spends his evenings and weekends doing the majority of the work on Rescars.
Current cars: Renault Clio 1.2 litre
Dan Thornton: Raised on rallycross and hot rod mags, and a fan of anything with an engine and wheels. Worked as a motoring journalist, which meant access to nice cars and motorbikes for many years. As a result, has generally owned terrible cars and motorbikes. Standout examples include the 1.0 litre Fiesta he had as a first car and rolled, the Volvo 340 GLE he then inherited from his parents and killed, a 1.0 litre Nissan Micra and a 1.0 litre Fiat Panda.
Current cars: Ford Focus 1.6 litre
Sean Allen: Seems to know an awful lot about modifying and tuning VWs. And spends his entire time in his well-appointed garage workshop doing things to modify and tune VWs.
Current cars: Some kind of monster VW that we need to remind him to write about.
Andy ‘feef’ Poodle: Like Dan, ‘Feef’ loves both cars and motorcycles. So he appears to have got the smallest, lightest car he could find and then tried to get the same power-to-weight out of it that you’d expect from a bike.
Current Cars: A monster Mazda MX-5
